The snowy trail going to the top of a portion of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Pedlar's pass follows a mountain stream. My aging doberman could go ahead unleashed here to his great joy. Max is gone forever now. His prints in the snow of this picture are still very much a portrait of a missed friend even though he is unseen in the painting.
