Thomas Akers
Puccoon
Gouache
18 x 20
Thomas Jefferson's farm journal that referenced the timing of crop activities to the cycles of the "puccoon" was the inspiration for this painting. The puccoon as it's known to older Virginians is the bloodroot; a common spring wild flower in the rich woodlands of this state.
